Training and Qualifications

Youth Dance England is committed to providing and promoting high quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers and practitioners who work with children and young people. CPD is a vital tool for developing a high quality, sustainable workforce through training experienced teachers and practitioners as well as those new to the sector.

YDE currently offers two CPD opportunities:

Dance Links: Training - a 2-day residential aimed at developing participants' skills and experience in delivering dance in schools.
U.Dance CPD courses - to help teachers and dance leaders develop more high quality dance performance opportunities and create excellent dance work with children and young people.

We have also compiled a section promoting other CPD opportunities provided by national organisations such as the Association for Physical Education, National Dance Teachers Association, Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and Youth Sport Trust. This section also includes CPD delivered by regional organisations.
