Welcome to Youth Dance England, the national organisation that champions and promotes dance for children and young people.
YDE’s aim is to increase dance opportunities for all children and young people on a national scale both in and out of school settings. We do this by working closely with a growing network of regional youth dance strategy managers, school dance teachers and regional and national partners, all working together to ensure that all things dance including events, performances, programmes and training opportunities are developed and delivered in each region across the country.
YDE is also here to offer advice, training, support and resources to both young people and those who have developed, or are thinking about developing, a career in dance. This support includes the creation of national programmes and events managed by YDE, which range from annual conferences to programmes which seek out the dance talent of tomorrow.
Demi Cooper, Stride! 2009 participant, has answered YDE's questions about her experience taking part in this annual leadership and development programme aimed at helping young people get a head start with their career in dance.
